Get your taste buds ready, Southern California theme park fans, because Knott’s Boysenberry Festival is returning to Knott’s Berry Farm with more flavorful fun this spring! This annual food-inspired event celebrates Knott’s historic Orange County roots by highlighting the little berry that started it all: the boysenberry.
This year’s newly-expanded festival will feature over 75 unique boysenberry-inspired creations crafted by the Knott’s culinary team, including everything from savory foods with a boysenberry twist to one-of-a-kind specialty desserts and drinks that can only be found at Knott’s Berry Farm during Boysenberry Festival 2019. This week I attended a media preview event for the festival and spoke with some of the talented creative minds behind this popular celebration at “America’s First Theme Park.”

Among the new food items being introduced at this year’s Knott’s Boysenberry Festival are boysenberry dry rubbed flank, boysenberry jerk chicken wings, boysenberry chili in a boysenberry sourdough bread bowl, boysenberry pot roast served over boysenberry mashed potatoes, boysenberry BBQ chicken skewers, boysenberry glazed salmon, boysenberry habanero baked mac and cheese, boysenberry jambalaya, and many more. And don’t forget to take home a classic boysenberry pie to share with the family!
A great way to indulge the new boysenberry food items during the festival is by purchasing a tasting card priced at $35 (which offers eight tastings from a selection of fourteen boysenberry-inspired dishes), while a variety of signature boysenberry items will also be available for purchase a la carte. New limited-edition Boysenberry Festival merchandise such as apparel, pins, and souvenirs will also be available around the park.
Fan-favorite live performances like “Snoopy’s Boysenberry Jamboree,” “Old Time Melodrama,” and Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies (formerly Disneyland’s Billy Hill and the Hillbillies) will be back to entertain guests, and kids of all ages will love visiting Old MacDonald Petting Zoo. Plus, Knott’s Boysenberry Festival 2019 will also see the return of the hit “Tied Up In Knott’s” tribute art show, which features 50 all-new pieces of art paying homage to Knott’s Berry Farm’s past, present and future. This gallery will be on display in the park’s Wilderness Dance Hall during the festival, and we got a preview of its fantastic contents this week.
