Now that’s a lot of Stormtroopers! Today, as the doors opened for the very first time at Star Wars Celebration 2019 in Chicago, the popular toy company LEGO set a unique Guinness Book World Record with a Stormtrooper Army build that wowed fans as they flooded the McCormick Place convention center where the event is being held.
The build stands at over twenty by twenty feet and is made up entirely of LEGO Star Wars Stormtrooper minifigures. A Guinness Book World Record adjudicator was on site to evaluate the attempt and award the certificate of completion.
“The Guinness World Records title for largest display of LEGO Star Wars minifigures was built by LEGO Group at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago on April 11, 2019. The display consists of 36,440 stormtrooper minifigures and celebrates the 20 year partnership between LEGO Group and Lucasfilm.”
“At Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, the LEGO Group Senior Director of Brand Relations, Michael McNally was presented the certificate of achievement by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Adjudicator, Christina Flounders Conlon. Composed of 36,440 LEGO stormtrooper minifigures and assembled in the shape of the iconic stormtrooper helmet, the 20 feet tall by 20 feet wide model took 12 people 38 hours to create and install.”
