It’s time to get Un Poco Loco once again. In what is swiftly becoming a tradition during this time of year (leading up to the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos), Pixar’s already beloved 2017 animated feature Coco has returned to El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood for a limited engagement this weekend only, and as always there’s no better place to experience Disney magic on the big screen.
This very short but very exciting run of Coco features Disneyland Resort regulars and Grammy Award-winning Mariachi Divas along with dancers from Ballet Folklórico de Los Ángeles as they entertain the El Capitan audience while they file into the theater. And for opening night on Thursday, actor Anthony Gonzalez (voice of Coco protagonist Miguel) briefly came out on stage to introduce the film.

El Capitan Theatre’s official synopsis of Coco is as follows:
In Disney/Pixar’s Coco, a vibrant tale of family, fun and adventure, aspiring young musician named Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) embarks on an extraordinary journey to the magical land of his ancestors. There, the charming trickster Hector (voice of Gael Garcia Bernal) becomes an unexpected friend who helps Miguel uncover the mysteries behind his family’s stories and traditions.
Before or after each show, guests can also visit the lower level of El Capitan to see the theater’s Halloween-season display of props, costumes, and art from the 1993 hits Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas and Hocus Pocus.
Coco plays from today (Friday, October 11) through Sunday (October 13) for three to four showtimes a day. For more information and advance ticketing resources, be sure to visit the official El Capitan Theatre website.
