The holiday season is already in full swing in Southern California, and Disneyland definitely isn’t the only theme park in the area where guests can get their recommended dose of Christmastime spirit. This past weekend, Knott’s Berry Farm launched the 2019 iteration of its festive Knott’s Merry Farm holiday celebration, and it couldn’t be more jam-packed with seasonal treats, cheerful decorations, and family-friendly shows through the New Year.
I had the wonderful opportunity to spend the evening at Knott’s Merry Farm on Friday night, and I was thrilled to see the return of the Calico Tree Lighting Ceremony in Calico Park, the “Merry Christmas, Snoopy!” ice skating show in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre, the Christmas Crafts Village throughout Ghost Town, Santa’s Christmas Cabin in the Wilderness Dance Hall, the dazzling “Snow and Glow in Ghost Town” hourly moment, and the all-new (and very impressive) “Home for the Holidays” live musical extravaganza on the Calico Mine Stage.

Guests gather in Calico Park outside the local saloon to enjoy the Calico Carolers as they perform several classic holiday tunes. Then the mayor makes the announcement: it’s time to light the tree!

Of course, you can’t leave Knott’s Merry Farm without picking up some merry merchandise: there’s all sorts of apparel, Peanuts plushes, collectible snowglobes and more, all decked out with the Merry Farm logo. And there’s also a wide assortment of delicious-looking holiday food offerings available around the park like the green-and-red Christmas Chicago Dog, Peppermint and Eggnog Shakes, and Turkey Bites!
