SeaWorld San Diego’s Seven Seas Food Festival 2021 launched on March 5 at the Southern California theme park, and this past weekend we paid a visit to the tourist destination to get a taste of everything the festival has to offer.
Arriving at the park, we found a couple banners and a few decorations promoting the Seven Seas Food Festival, while information kiosks provided further details.
The main attraction at SeaWorld’s Seven Seas Food Festival is of course the food, so we picked up a ten-item Food & Beverage Sampler card for $60 plus tax. Around the park we tried dishes from a variety of regional-themed food stands and counter service locations like Hummus & Parmesan Garlic Fries from the Mediterranean, Goat Cheese Croquettes from France, Key Lime Pie from the Caribbean, and more. Naturally there are extensive assortments of beverages to wet your whistle and desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth as well.
Another key feature of Seven Seas Food Festival is the live entertainment, like the toe-tapping band we saw in the video below.
We also encountered Sesame Street characters like Ernie and Rosita doing socially distanced meet-and-greets from parade floats and more entertaining performances happening on bandstands around SeaWorld San Diego.
Another fun activity to participate in this time of year at SeaWorld San Diego is the park’s Animal Rescue Scavenger Hunt, which cost $15 plus tax and took us around the entire perimeter of SeaWorld searching for informational signs about various water-dwelling animals. Returning the completed map at the end of the hunt nets guests a swell SeaWorld backpack!
And speaking of animals, we couldn’t resist stopping along our walk to say hi to some of our favorite SeaWorld denizens like the sea lions, flamingoes, and penguins. Sadly the park’s indoor exhibits like Shark Encounter and Turtle Reef were still closed during our visit, but hopefully they will open up soon as California continues to ease restrictions.
As you can see by the signs we found posted in the park below, SeaWorld San Diego has a full calendar worth of events planned for 2021, such as Sesame Street Kids’ Weekends, Electric Ocean, SeaWorld Spooktacular, and more. Very exciting!
Seven Seas Food Festival runs on select dates from now through Sunday, May 2. Be sure to visit SeaWorld San Diego’s official website for more information and to purchase advance tickets.
