It is never too early to start thinking about the holidays. Forget Christmas in July, Hallmark is getting a jump start on the holiday season by releasing their 2021 Dream Book. Filled with Christmas ornaments, tree skirts and collectibles, this year’s catalogue will not disappoint, especially Disney fans.
The 36-page wish list includes traditional Disney ornaments like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Dopey, Anna and Elsa from Frozen, Cinderella, and Tinker Bell to characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. For 2021 Hallmark is offering up a special Halloween ornament featuring Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus. Winifred is complete with her signature green dress and her witch’s spell book in one hand and her broomstick in the other.
Star Wars fans also have reason to celebrate with the addition of new ornaments to the galaxy not so far away. The iconic R2-D2 and C-3PO are the latest addition to Hallmark’s Star Wars: A New Hope Storytellers collection. With a press of the button the droids will light up and perform an exciting scene from the Star Wars movies. Other ornaments in the collection include Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Death Star Tree Topper are each sold separately and can be connected to unlock additional interactive performances.
Again this year, Hallmark is featuring higher-end holiday decor for the true Disney fan and collector. This holiday season, Hallmark is presenting Disney Princess Dreams Go Round Carousel Musical Tabletop Decoration complete with lights and motion. The ornament features Cinderella, Ariel, Belle and Jasmine on their royal carousel ride animals and plays calliope versions of each princess’s signature song, “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes,” “Part of Your World,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “A Whole New World.”
In the past, Hallmark has also been presenting a line of ornaments for smaller tabletop trees and this year is no exception. They have a Santa Mickey and Minnie to grace your small tree as well as a miniature tree topper and miniature tree skirt. The red fabric base features a velvet green trim with mouse ears snowflake design. The skirt is coordinated with a mouse ears snowflake mini tree topper with a dusting of glitter and a metal spring base.
I am particularly interested in the Walt Disney Mickey Mouse Storyteller Statue ornament highlighting Mickey and Walt in a replica of the iconic statue that greets guests on Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. The ornament pays homage to a young Walt and Mickey fresh off the train from Missouri to start living their dreams. This item is a follow-up to a similar ornament Hallmark offered a few years ago featuring the Blaine Gibson designed statue of Walt and Mickey hand-in-hand at the castle hub at Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
Another must have on my list is the Mickey Mouse radio musical ornament. Inspired by a vintage console radio from a bygone era, you can turn the dial to see the radio light up and hear fun broadcasts hosted by Mickey and songs like When You Wish Upon A Star and You Can Fly.
Hallmark always does a fantastic job in capturing the true essence of the Disney characters in their ornaments and this year is no exception. In all the years I have been collecting Hallmark ornaments, I have never been disappointed. In its offerings, Hallmark is extremely consistent and attentive to detail. Hallmark artists pay particularly close attention to every attribute from paint color to facial expressions of characters. They leave nothing to chance in designing and executing products.
Currently you can save your holiday ornaments to an online wish list before purchasing them during Hallmark’s Christmas in July spectacular. The complete 2021 Dream Book is available at Hallmark.com.
