Two different releases are now available to help kids get excited for the latest Pixar film, one aimed at children under the age of 5 and the other over that same age.
Silenzio, Bruno!: When in Doubt, Shout it Out! is a hardcover picture book by Meredity Ruso with illustrations by Giovanni Rigano. Told in the first person from the point of view of the character Alberto, this book tells part of the story of Luca while driving home the film’s message of not succumbing to your own self doubt. With charming stylized illustrations with lots of color, this book makes a perfect storytime addition to your child’s routine. Kids closer to Kindergarten may be able to read it aloud themselves, although there are a few Italian words that may be unfamiliar to them.
The Luca Read-Along Storybook and CD is a softcover book that comes with a CD affixed to the back of the front cover. Like the old record and cassette tapes, the CD narrates the story of the film while a chime instructs kids to turn the page for accompanying imagery. The aural experience uses dialogue from the film with a new narration and musical accompaniment.
The charming artwork in both books are sure to keep kids attention throughout the storytime experience. They may even spot a few hidden objects that appear in the film, with the stylized artwork in both books bringing a few Pixar Easter Eggs to the forefront of the image.
