Following new CDC guidance, Walt Disney World and Disneyland will reinstate face covering policy at indoor locations beginning Friday, July 30th.
What’s Happening:
- Guests visiting domestic Disney theme parks at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts will once again need to wear face coverings at indoor locations.
- This reinstated policy applies to Guests ages 2 and up in addition to Cast Members.
- Guests at Walt Disney World will be asked to wear face coverings when entering all attractions, even ones that are outdoors.
- Disney was already requiring face coverings on Disney-provided transportation including busses, shuttles, monorails and the Disney Skyliner.
- The decision was made in response to a press conference by the Centers for Disease Control on July 27th, which stated that anyone in a high-infection area should wear a face covering at public indoor locations, regardless of vaccination status.
- Both of Disney’s theme park resorts in the United States are located in areas with high cases of infection.
- Before the CDC’s announcement, Orange County, FL Mayor Jerry Demings asked businesses to require face coverings indoors.
- Earlier today, the California Department of Public Health made a statewide recommendation for wearing face masks indoors.
