For Southern California theme park fans, one of the most unfortunate casualties of the COVID-19 pandemic was the cancellation of Knott’s Berry Farm’s beloved “Ghost Town Alive!” immersive wild-west experience during the park’s 2020 closure and carrying over into the 2021 summer season, which naturally had to take a modified approach to operations as the tourism industry gradually reopened this year.
Fortunately for those of us who can’t wait to interact with the various citizens of Calico once again, Knott’s Berry Farm has confirmed to Laughing Place that “Ghost Town Alive!” is indeed intended to return for the summer season of 2022.
What’s happening:
- After not being able to take place during the 2020 or 2021, the summer-long immersive Western experience known as “Ghost Town Alive!” will be returning to Knott’s Berry Farm in 2022.
- First introduced in 2016 and featuring a talented cast of performers, “Ghost Town Alive!” entails an interactive story that plays out over eight hours each park day during its run. Guests mix it up with bandits, sheriff’s deputies, and the local townsfolk who populate the wild-west mining town of Calico, while solving mysteries, participating in scavenger hunt-type activities, and many more memorable moments.
- Aside from confirming that “Ghost Town Alive!” will return in 2022, Knott’s Berry Farm was not able to offer many more details on next year's event, adding that additional information will be available eventually.
- In the meantime, Knott’s Berry Farm’s fan-favorite Knott’s Scary Farm Halloween haunt will return this fall at the Southern California destination, with tickets already available for dates beginning in mid-September.
