Halloween season is already well underway in the Southern California theme park community, and that means– as usual– the annual Knott’s Scary Farm Halloween Haunt is getting rave reviews at local favorite destination Knott’s Berry Farm.

But families with younger children who want to experience the lighter side of Knott’s at Halloween time should absolutely consider a visit to Knott’s Spooky Farm: the daytime kid-focused event that runs weekends from late September through the end of October.

Don’t forget to stop by the Calico Mine Stage, where the perennial favorites Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies perform their knee-slapping set of bluegrass covers, including the hilarious Halloween hit “Monster Mash,” as seen above.

In Ghost Town’s Livery Stable, guests will find a display of the Creepy Critters of Calico, a collection of real living animals suitable for the season. And all that is in addition to the kids’ trick or treating, other character interactions, and colorful Halloween decorations around the rest of the park.

Knott’s Spooky Farm runs on Saturdays and Sundays from now through Halloween. For more information and to purchase advance tickets, be sure to visit the official Knott’s Berry Farm website.
