Disney’s fans like to share their love of the parks and all things Disney on social media sites, using emojis, and dozens of other mediums. From clothing and food to photography and film, fans are thrilled to spread the magic. And Disney knows this and has decided to get in on the fun with some of their latest merchandise and food offerings.
The Purple Wall
Today Walt Disney World debuted their newest MagicBand design which will be available on shopDisney for a flash two-week sale starting March 5th. The MagicBand is white and features a purple Cinderella Castle along with the quote, “Meet me at the Purple Wall.” What is The Purple Wall? So glad you asked! Disney’s Purple Wall is just what it sounds like. A purple wall — but a purple wall that also happens to be a great spot to take Instagram pictures. Like a really, really great spot to take pictures! Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom has colorful walls in all sorts of hues, but for some reason, this purple one is just a tad better than the rest. By a tad we mean over 27,000 hashtags better, not to mention the Wall has its own Instagram account. It’s not verified… yet, but that could change any day, right? The Wall has become so popular that shopDisney designed a baseball cap, and when the latest Ears Hat — featuring Elena of Avalor—debuted, a picture had to be taken against The Purple Wall. Disney continues to embrace theses social media phenomenons and the creativity they inspire.
Rose Gold Everything
Ever since Apple introduced their iPhone 6 with a rose gold color option, the new hue has popped up everywhere. Recognizing this trend, Disney has continued to add more and more “rose gold” jewelry, earrings, and merchandise to their parks and shopDisney website following the craze that has taken retail by storm. They even introduced a Rose Gold Churro at Disneyland earlier this year!
Spirit Jerseys
What is a spirit jersey? It’s an oversized long sleeve shirt that bears the name of a school, sponsor, sorority, etc, across the upper back and shoulders. It’s the perfect way to show your spirit and pride for something you love. With all sorts of spirit jerseys available, Disney has joined the madness and has designed several colorful styles for Disneyland and Walt Disney World.
