What was the best gift you received over the holidays? Did anyone surprise you with something you really needed but weren’t expecting? For one Animal Kingdom Cast Member, that’s exactly what happened.

The holidays are truly a magical time and thanks to the overwhelming love and support from fellow Cast Members, Jon received enough money for the EnChroma glasses he’d been hoping he could purchase one day. EnChroma glasses are designed for those with colorblindness and while they are amazingly helpful, they are also very expensive. Cast Member, Elizabeth explains what the team did for Jon in her Facebook post:
“Back story: Jon is one of our amazing cast members. He is color blind and while he doesn’t let it define him, he did tell us he wanted Enchroma glasses (they will allow him to see the colors he cannot see). The problem was that they were very expensive. So I had this crazy idea that my team and I could secretly raise some money to help him buy them. We started this a week into December (ambitious I know) but today WE REACHED OUR GOAL! We gave him the money we raised and the video below is his reaction. Here at Disney’s animal kingdom we are more than a team, we are a family and this is how we take care of each other. *Thank you everyone who helped make this a great holiday for our cast member Jon!!!”
