Derek Hoffman Named Vice President of Development at Lucasfilm
Hoffman’s new role will see him overseeing development of live-action projects.
Derek Hoffman has been appointed as Lucasfilm’s new vice president of development.
What’s Happening:
- TheWrap reports that Derek Hoffman will be Lucasfilm’s new vice president of development, where he’ll oversee development of live-action projects.
- The job previously belonged to Rayne Roberts, who left the company at the end of last year after co-developing The Acolyte with Leslye Headland, where she was credited as a producer.
- Hoffman has worked in the film, video game and comic book industry for the last 24 years.
- Notably he worked up the ranks at The Donners’ Company, becoming vice president and working on each film in the X-Men franchise.
- Hoffman ultimately spearheaded the franchise’s move into television serving as co-executive producer on the FX series Legion and as executive producer on Fox’s The Gifted.
- Lucasfilm currently has numerous live action Star Wars in the pipeline, including season 2 of Andor, a new film from Shawn Levy and a film which will see Daisy Ridley return as Rey.
