“American Idol” Returning to Disney’s Aulani Resort Once Again This Season
Details are scarce, but we know that the show will be back in the Hawaiian paradise once again!
American Idol is continuing what has become an annual tradition of returning to Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Ko Olina, Hawai’i.
What’s Happening:
- Ahead of American Idol’s season premiere on March 9th, ABC has revealed that the show will be returning to Disney’s Aulani once again this year.
- It hasn’t been explicitly stated what week Aulani will be featured on the show, but years past have seen the Top 24 traveling to the resort, with 12 taking the stage for America’s first of the season.
- Between lessons with their mentors and performances, the contestants feasted at some of Aulani Resort’s unrivaled dining options, experienced the private Rainbow Reef snorkeling lagoon, splashed around in the Waikolohe Valley pool area, and even met some favorite Disney friends!
- This season will see former Idol winner Carrie Underwood take over from Katy Perry as a judge alongside returning judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan.
- Meanwhile, country artist Jelly Roll has been named as the show’s first “artist in residence."
- American Idol will return with a half-hour preview special following the Oscars on March 9th, before officially kicking off its eighth season on ABC the following week on March 9th.
