“Captain America: Brave New World” Smashes Into El Capitan Theatre for Opening Night

Photo ops, costumes, and special treats are all in store for this run of Marvel's latest film.

Tonight, as Captain America: Brave New World makes its debut in theaters across the nation, the film also kicked off a run at the world famous El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood.

As promised on the marquee, guests can pose for a photo with statues of Captain America (Sam Wilson) and Red Hulk (Thaddeus Ross).

Meanwhile, another standee featuring Red Hulk was also on display.

Over at the concession stand, a number of specialty treats and novelty items were available for purchase. Starting with refreshments, there’s a Hero Pretzel with icing and sprinkles for $9 as well as dueling drinks: Red Gamma Kick (Sprite with strawberry syrup, Tajin, and chamoy) for $8.50 and the Justice Punch (Sprite with Curaçao syrup) for $8. A Liberty Icee is also on the menu for $9.50.

Collectible food and drink vessels are also featured, including a Red Hulk popcorn container ($45), a helmet popcorn container ($45), or a collectible tin for $17.50. Additionally, the shield sipper — which is headed to the Disneyland Resort — and a Cap-inspired gripper cup can be purchased. Lastly, there’s a Red Hulk drink cup for $22.

As with several other El Capitan engagements, guests can also check out a display of costumes from the film. These include outfits from Joaquin Torres, President Thaddeus Ross, Sidewinder, Sam Wilson, and Ruth Bat-Seraph.

To celebrate opening night of the new film, El Capitan honored real-life heroes from the U.S. Armed Forces, inviting them on stage to be saluted.
