“Daredevil: Cold Day In Hell” Prestige Miniseries Details Revealed by Marvel Comics and Writer Charles Soule
Soule has reteamed with artist Steve McNiven for this three-issue event.
Though we’ve known about Marvel Comics’ upcoming miniseries Daredevil: Cold Day In Hell since NYCC 2024, today the company revealed the covers and plot details for the three-issue prestige series starring “The Man Without Fear" from writer Charles Soule and artist Steve McNiven.
What’s happening:
- Marvel Comics has revealed the covers and plot details for Daredevil: Cold Day In Hell, a three-issue prestige miniseries written by Daredevil (2015) scribe Charles Soule and illustrated by Old Man Logan artist Steve McNiven.
- Soule and McNiven previously collaborated on the Return of Wolverine and Death of Wolverine titles for Marvel.
- Daredevil: Cold Day In Hell was first announced at New York Comic Con 2024 last fall.
What they’re saying:
- Marvel Comics: “Set in a grim future, DAREDEVIL: COLD DAY IN HELL introduces a grizzled, older, and virtually powerless Matt Murdock. No longer operating as a super hero, Matt still finds ways to help others in a world more unjust than ever, but when a catastrophe miraculously restores his enhanced senses, he’s able to take the fight to where it matters most as DAREDEVIL. Today, fans can see the main covers for all three issues along with all five variant covers for the debut issue, including a new piece by legendary Daredevil storyteller Frank Miller."
- Writer Charles Soule: “This book was extremely collaborative in a way that was a bit of an experiment for us, a back and forth discussion as scripts and inks and dialogue and colors came in throughout, and I think people are going to see that on the page. Steve called it ‘jazz’ at one point, and I don't think that's so far off. I'm really proud of all the work I've done with Steve, but this one really stands out."
- Artist Steve McNiven: “This is definitely a story that fits in with all of the other things Charles and I have collaborated on over the years, and is probably the most ambitious. A unique type of work that could only happen after years of working together and trusting each other’s abilities."
Daredevil: Cold Day In Hell #1 will be hitting comic shops on Wednesday, April 2nd.
