“Deadpool & Wolverine” Recieves Highest Disney+ Live-Action Streaming Debut Since 2023

The hit R-rated Marvel flick earned a massive $1.34 billion at the global box office.

Deadpool & Wolverine made its streaming debut on Disney+ last week and has pulled nearly 20 million views globally.

What’s Happening:

  • Deadline reports that after only 6 days of streaming, Deadpool & Wolverine has racked up 19.4 million total views on Disney+.
  • Like Netflix, Disney+ tallies total views by dividing total stream time by total run time.
  • This makes the R-rated hit the most-watched streaming release on both Disney+ and Hulu since the release of 2023’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
  • It, however, was unable to best Inside Out 2’s September debut, which saw 30.5 million total views in the first five days of its release.
  • Deadpool & Wolverine marked the Marvel Cinematic Universe entrance of both Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
  • It was also the MCU’s first R-rated film, which became the highest grossing R-rated movie globally with $1.34 billion.
  • In Deadpool & Wolverine, Deadpool learns that the Time Variance Authority intends on destroying his universe. Teaming up with Wolverine, who is from another timeline in the multiverse, the anti-hero pair set out on a mission to save it.
  • The film also features several surprise cameos across Marvel’s endless list of films both inside and out of the MCU.
  • Deadpool & Wolverine also marked a huge turn in success for Marvel Studios, which had been struggling to garner audience numbers for their more recent projects.
  • Deadpool & Wolverine is streaming now only on Disney+.
