Marvel Reigniting the “Bring On the Bad Guys” Villain-Focused One-Shot Series
Head 5 decades back as Marvel reintroduces their iconic supervillain centric comic series.
Marvel Comics is kicking things up this June with a new series of one-shot comics centered around Marvel’s greatest supervillains.
What’s Happening:
- Marvel Comics is taking readers back 50 years celebrating the legacy of their Bring On the Bad Guys trade paperback with 7 new one shot comics celebrating their iconic lineup of villains.
- Also titled Bring On the Bad Guys, readers will get to return to the same group of foes from Marvel’s original stories.
- These include Doctor Doom, Green Goblin, Abomination, Loki, Red Skull, Dormammu, and Mephisto.
- The series will kick off with Bring on the Bad Guys: Doctor Doom written by Emmy award winner Marc Guggenheim and artist Stefano Raffaele. The pair will also create the conclusion with Bring on the Bad Guys: Mephisto.
- Guggenheim will also provide special backup stories in each issue shedding light on Mephisto’s nefarious plot as well as the origin of a new villain called Sister Sorrow.
- The first issue, Bring on the Bad Guys: Doom #1, will hit shelves on June 5th.

- Throughout July, fans will be able to grab issues based on Green Goblin, Abomination, and Loki.
- August will bring in the final trio with Red Skull, Dormammu, and Mephisto.
What They’re Saying:
- Marc Guggenheim, writer: “As someone who grew up with the original Bring On the Bad Guys on his bedroom shelf, this project is particularly exciting to me. It’s been a while since I had the chance to work with other writers on a crossover event and I’m truly enjoying the collaboration. Marvel has such a rich roster of antagonists and it’s a huge amount of fun to not only give them their time to shine but also add a new villain to their ranks — Sister Sorrow — who is every bit as dangerous and formidable as these classic villains."
- Mark Paniccia, editor: “Marvel broke the mold with supervillains, pushing them past the archetypical to the complex and some even morally gray but still to be feared. Each of these one-shots are an opportunity for fans to see what makes these villains some of the most dangerous characters in the Marvel Universe."
