Marvel’s First Family Heading to Disneyland as “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” Hits Theaters
Putting characters sporting a retro-aesthetic into a "land of the future" says a lot about current Tomorrowland, doesn't it?
Marvel’s First Family will soon be making an appearance at the Disneyland Resort as part of the festivities surrounding the release of their new film this summer, but it’s not where you might think.
What’s Happening:
- Announced earlier today at SXSW, Marvel’s first family are coming to the Disneyland Resort starting this summer as The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters on July 25th.
- Surely fans will immediately assume that the heroes will, like so many other Marvel heroes and characters, be making their way to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
- However, the news reveals that instead, The Fantastic Four will be coming to Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park. There, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, Ben Grimm, and H.E.R.B.I.E will make appearances starting this summer.
- This location is a perfect fit since their film is set in a lively, retro-futuristic universe inspired by the 1960s,
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family, Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn) and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they face their most significant challenge yet.
- They must balance their heroic responsibilities with their family bonds while defending Earth against the relentless cosmic entity Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and his enigmatic Herald, Silver Surfer (Julia Garner).
- As if Galactus’ plan to devour the planet and its people weren’t alarming enough, the stakes become deeply personal.
- The film also stars Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, Natasha Lyonne, and Sarah Niles, directed by Matt Shakman and produced by Kevin Feige, with executive producers Louis D’Esposito, Grant Curtis, and Tim Lewis.
- The Fantastic Four: First Steps hits theaters on July 25th, 2025. Disney has not announced an exact date as to when The Fantastic Four will debut at Disneyland Park.
More Disney SXSW announcements:
- In addition to the popular BDX droids coming to more Disney Parks around the world later this year, it’s been confirmed that they will appear in the upcoming film The Mandalorian & Grogu.
- Speaking of The Mandalorian & Grogu, the previously-announced new mission for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will debut on the same day as the film.
- A new animatic showing the Monsters Inc. door coaster’s unique load area has been unveiled.
- We also got a new look at the ride vehicles for a Cars attraction coming to Magic Kingdom.
