Central Japan Railway Gives a First Look at their Fantasy Springs Inspired “Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen”
Featuring characters from "Frozen," "Peter Pan," and "Tangled," the festive bullet train will begin taking passengers this Friday.
In celebration of Tokyo DisneySea’s Fantasy Springs, JR Central has unveiled their new Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen special train prior to its February 21st debut.
What’s Happening:
- Thanks to Japan Times, we have a first look at Central Japan Railway’s (JR Central) new Fantasy Springs themed bullet train.
- Titled the Wonderful Dreams Shinkansen, the JR Central and Oriental Land Co. collaboration brings popular characters from Frozen, Peter Pan, and Tangled to the outside of one of their bullet trains.
- Inspired by Tokyo DisneySea’s new Fantasy Springs port, the new train adds a touch of magic for passengers traveling along the Tokaido Shinkansen line.
- This is the first time a specially painted shinkansen train has ever operated on the line, which debuted in 1964.
- The train will make up to two round trips a day between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka stations beginning this Friday, February 21st and running through mid-September.
- JR Central President Shunsuke Niwa shared "We hope (passengers) will feel as if they're in a dream while traveling on the Shinkansen."
- Fantasy Springs opened back in June of 2024, inviting guests into the magical worlds of Frozen, Peter Pan, and Tangled. With four new attractions, a massive luxury hotel, shopping and dining, there has never been a more magical time to visit Tokyo Disney Resort.
