Disneyland Teases the Arrival of Luke Skywalker at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for Season of the Force

Luke is back in black in the new promo video.

A new video from Disney Parks is teasing the arrival of Luke Skywalker at Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

UPDATE – February 10th, 2025:

  • In announcing the festivities for this year’s Season of the Force, Disney remained slightly coy about this “shadowy visitor" – noting that the visitor will appear on Batuu for a limited time.
  • However, they confirmed directly to us that Luke Skywalker will be making appearances in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for the event.

Previously Reported – February 7th, 2025:

  • Disney Parks has tweeted out a new video teasing the arrival of Luke Skywalker at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, tied to the return of the Star Wars: Season of the Force event.
  • Accompanied by the caption “A Jedi... like his father before him," the video shows Luke walking up to the Millenium Falcon, joined by R2-D2. Notably, Luke is wearing the black costume first introduced in Return of the Jedi and then seen worn by Luke in his appearances in The Mandalorian.

  • There have been some rare appearances by a costumed Luke Skywalker at Disneyland before, such as at Star Wars Nites, but they were in his original white costume from Episode IV - A New Hope.
  • Though Galaxy’s Edge was originally strictly tied to the Star Wars sequel trilogy era, including its accompanying characters, that has loosened in recent years with appearances by Din Djarin & Grogu, Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, Ahsoka Tano, Hera & Chopper, and Sabine Wren, all of whom co-exist in the same post-Return of the Jedi era as the black costumed Luke.
  • The follow-up tweet revealed more details will be revealed on 2/10/25, along with the hashtags  #SeasonOfTheForce and #Disneyland, confirming Luke’s arrival will be tied to that event. It remains to be seen if Luke will stick around at Galaxy’s Edge past the conclusion of Season of the Force.
