A casting call on the official Disney Auditions site gives a glimpse into a future limited-time entertainment offering coming to Disney California Adventure.
What’s Happening:
- Disney Auditions is seeking out performers that will certainly get fans of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Encanto to raise their eyebrows.
- The casting call is seeking online submissions for a vocalist who can sing and portray Mirabel from the award-winning film in what is described as a limited-run entertainment offering coming to Disney California Adventure.
- The call describes that Disneyland Resort is seeking an experienced contemporary musical theatre mezzo-soprano and actor that resembles the character from the film. Height 5'2" – 5'5". Fluent in Spanish a plus.
- As of press time, no others from the Madrigal family are being sought out by the audition process, which leads us to think this isn’t a full Encanto experience that could be coming.
- However, similar casting calls fitting the description have also led to later announcements such as 4-Town and Meilin’s friends and father from Pixar’s Turning Red in the Better Together parade at Pixar Fest, as well as the fan-favorite limited-time experience in the park’s Hyperion Theater, Rogers: The Musical.
- While we know that something featuring Mirabel is coming to Disney California Adventure, nothing has been officially announced yet.
- Those wishing to audition must submit their online auditions and make sure it is received by August 11th, 2024. Performers will be contacted by Talent Casting if they are selected to move on to an in-person audition. In-person auditions will take place August 14th, 2024.
