Photos: Construction Walls Teasing Pearl’s Roadhouse BBQ Pop Up in Downtown Disney

Get a glimpse of the mouth-watering bbq coming to Disneyland Resort.

Downtown Disney’s West Side makeover continues as construction around the former Tortilla Jo’s location picks up with new construction walls advertising upcoming dining offerings.

What’s Happening:

  • We are kicking off our 90s Nite coverage with a look at the current construction at Downtown Disney.
  • One of the biggest closures at Disneyland Resort’s shopping district was Tortilla Jo’s, a multistory sitdown restaurant with an attached quick service location.
  • The, admittedly, mediocre offering closed down to usher in two new dining opportunities as the resort continues a major expansion and remodel of Downtown Disney.
  • Fences were recently added around the location advertising the upcoming quick service barbeque restaurant Pearl’s Roadhouse BBQ.
  • Just like the Arthur & Sons Steak and Bourbon restaurant coming to the space, the new concept comes from Michelin-starred Chef Joe Isidori.
  • The outside of the eatery is set to take on a mid-century diner aesthetic, with neon-lit awnings and a large, round marquee.

  • Offering BBQ classics like pulled pork, beef brisket, and smoked turkey, the new fence is showing off some of the delicious dishes Disneyland fans can look forward to.

  • The fence wraps all the way around the current building, which is set to be demolished to make way for the two new restaurants.
  • At this time, no official timeline has been shared for the project, but, with it being nearly 10 years since the closure of Big Thunder Ranch BBQ, it’ll be great to have another quality BBQ option at the resort.
