Photos: Work Continues In Seabase at The Seas with Nemo and Friends at EPCOT

No, we don't think the Hydrolators are coming back.

While the official transformation of EPCOT was officially completed with the debut of Communicore Hall late last year, that doesn’t mean that nothing will ever be changing again. Currently, guests visiting the park can imagine a new world of possibilities at The Seas with Nemo & Friends, as construction walls have appeared inside the pavilion.

Most of the work being done is probably related to the section of Seabase (formerly Seabase Alpha) that is dedicated to the Manatees. Animals that were formerly housed in this area have been moved to another facility in Destin - Fort Walton Beach, and the area is being worked on to accept new manatees.

Also of interest (and not always the greatest sign in terms of EPCOT pavilions), the pavilion now closes at 7:00 PM. 95% of the year, EPCOT closes at 9:00 PM, meaning this pavilion closes two hours before the rest of the park. This throws back to an era in the early 00’s that saw all the (then-called) Future World pavilions operate from 9:00AM - 7:00 PM (save for Soarin’ in The Land, Mission: SPACE, Spaceship Earth, and Test Track) and World Showcase pavilions operate from 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM. As new attractions opened, including The Seas with Nemo and Friends in 2007, this schedule largely fell away, making this choice to return to this operating schedule an interesting one.
