Some very good news coming out of the west coast version of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge this morning: Disneyland has shared with us that the cannon firing movement on the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction has been repaired.
What’s happening:
- When Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance first opened in January of 2020, it featured a memorable moment during which the ride vehicles would rush past giant laser cannons as they shifted from side to side, firing out into the space battle outside the First Order Star Destroyer. This moment is viewable in working order in the embedded video below.
- Sadly that function had not been working for some time, but as of this morning Disneyland has shared the good news that the laser cannons are firing once again.
- In recent visits to the park, I’ve personally noted that this was one of the only noticeable things not working on the attraction, meaning that Rise of the Resistance may now be in full working order again at Disneyland. There’s no word just yet on whether the same repair is being made at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is open daily at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge on both coasts.
