Series Adaptation of “A Court of Thorns and Roses” Officially Dead at Hulu
After being shelved and then picked up again, the project is now officially dead.
After some conflicting reports regarding the project’s development status, Hulu is officially no longer moving forward with a series adaptation of A Court of Thorns and Roses.
What’s Happening:
- Deadline reports that Hulu and 20th Television will not be proceeding with a TV adaptation of Sarah J. Maas’ popular fantasy book series A Court of Thorns and Roses.
- Development on the adaptation began four years ago with Ron Moore, with rumors spreading last February that the project had been shelved.
- Almost immediately, Disney confirmed that the project was still in development – however, we haven’t heard any updates since.
- Now, the project is officially dead.
- Moore then left 20th Television to return to Sony Pictures Television a couple of months later, which put to an end a number of in-development projects.
- Written by Sarah J. Maas, the fantasy romance novel follows Feyre, a huntress who kills a wolf and finds herself in a magical land she never thought possible.
- Additional books in the immensely popular series include A Court of Mist and Fury, A Court of Wings and Ruin, as well as the novella A Court of Frost and Starlight and A Court of Silver Flames.
