Carrie Underwood to Host “American Idol” Companion Show “Idol to Icon”
The YouTube exclusive show will premiere on March 4th and air throughout the season.
Reminding fans of her origins, new American Idol judge Carrie Underwood will be hosting a new YouTube companion show called Idol to Icon.
What’s Happening:
- Deadline reports that the new American Idol companion show, Idol to Icon, will debut on YouTube on Tuesday, March 4th.
- The release will come two days after the season premiere of Idol, the first to feature Underwood as a judge.
- Each episode of Idol to Icon will cover a different part of the competition and will roll out throughout the entire season, with the last episode covering her finale memories and ultimate Idol winning moment.
- Underwood kept a journal throughout her time on Idol and the series will feature her reading exclusive journal entries along with covering fashion highlights and behind-the-scenes confessional moments.
- Meanwhile, country artist Jelly Roll has been named as the show’s first “artist in residence."
- American Idol will return with a half-hour preview special following the Oscars on March 2nd, before officially kicking off its eighth season on ABC the following week on March 9th.
