Host Confirms “ESPN Daily” Podcast Has Ended
The revelation came as the host was responded to curious comments from listeners.
The daily sports podcast, ESPN Daily, has apparently been cancelled with the host, Clinton Yates, replying to curious listeners on social media.
What’s Happening:
- Fans have noticed that the daily sports podcast, ESPN Daily, has unexpectedly stopped dropping new episodes and taken themselves to X to ask host Clinton Yates what happened.
- The podcast, which promises to “kick off your morning with the best sports story you'll hear all day" didn’t drop a new episode midweek - unusual for a Mon-Fri daily podcast - prompting the concern.
- Yates himself replied on X, saying that “Unfortunately, the show is no longer. Really do appreciate all the support." In later comments, he elaborates - “decisions above my paygrade were made. But you can check me out on ESPN Radio every day now!" before expressing his gratitude to those who supported the show.
- In March 2024, Yates was named host of the ESPN Daily podcast, which dropped daily Monday to Friday, and promised to bring listeners inside look at the most interesting stories at ESPN, as told by the top reporters and insiders on the planet, in a style that brought the breaking news of SportsCenter with the deep dive storytelling of 30 for 30.
- Yates is a columnist, television commentator and host for ESPN. He joined the company in February 2016 as a member of the editorial team that launched Andscape, the Black multimedia content studio formerly known as The Undefeated. Yates’ profile has grown steadily across the company’s multimedia platforms. In addition to writing, he appears on multiple television programs, ESPN Radio and more. His comments regarding the cancellation of ESPN Daily imply a return to daily reporting on ESPN Radio.
