Hulu has shared a first look and announced the premiere date for their upcoming limited-run series, Good American Family, starring Disney Legend Ellen Pompeo.
What’s Happening:
- Set for Hulu, Ellen Pompeo’s Natalia Grace-inspired series, Good American Family, has revealed their premiere date, set for March.
- The eight-episode limited run series will release its first two episodes on Hulu on March 19th. New episodes will follow weekly for the remainder of the run of the series.
- Along with the premiere date, Hulu has also shared a first look at the series via some images seen throughout this page.
- The logline for Good American Family reads: “Told from multiple points of view, as a means to explore issues of perspective, bias, and trauma, this compelling drama is inspired by the disturbing stories surrounding a Midwestern couple who adopts a girl with a rare form of dwarfism. But as they begin to raise her alongside their three biological children, mystery emerges around her age and background, and they slowly start to suspect she may not be who she says she is. As they defend their family from the daughter they’ve grown to believe is a threat, she fights her own battle to confront her past and what her future holds, in a showdown that ultimately plays out in the tabloids and the courtroom.”
- Along with Pompeo, the series stars Mark Duplass and Imogen Reid. Dulé Hill, Christina Hendricks, Sarayu Blue and Jenny O’Hara are recurring guest stars.
- Good American Family was announced back in the summer of 2022, which prompted Pompeo to scale back her appearances on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, so that she could star and exec. Produce the new Hulu limited series.
- Pompeo was still heard as Grey’s weekly voiceover, but will be seen more frequently as the titular Meredith Grey in the 21st season of the long-running series, set to return on March 6th on ABC.
- Katie Robbins serves as creator and executive producer of Good American Family, running the show with executive producer Sarah Sutherland. Ellen Pompeo executive produces through her production banner Calamity Jane with Laura Holstein. Andrew Strearn, Dan Spilo, Niles Kirchner, and Mike Epps also executive produce. The limited series is produced by 20th Television.
