Zootopia Tsum Tsum Collection

While Zootopia is still one month from release, Disney Store launched their collection a month early. The did the same thing with Inside Out, which frustrated me because they aren’t giving fans a chance to know if they even like these characters before they commit to buying them. Looking at the lineup of 13 characters, can you honestly say you know who any of them are right now? As a result, the only character that has sold out so far is Flash, the sloth from the trailer. However, my personal favorite from this release is Ele-Finnick, a fox dressed as an elephant…. I feel a gleeful exclamation coming on…. trying to fight it, but…. YAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!! ! ! !

Happy Birthday to Tsum!

Happy birthday to you, you live in a zoo(topia), you look like a monkey, and you smell like one, too! Disney Store continues to surprise collectors with unannounced releases on Tsum Tsum Tuesday and this week, it was a Happy Birthday Mickey and Minnie. Both are supes adorbs in party attire with festive hats. “2016” is in the title on both character, leading me to believe these are the first in an annual series of Birthday Tsum Tsums.

May the Force Be With Tsum

Disney Store announced that from now on, Tsum Tsum Tuesday will happen twice a month, on the first and third Tuesdays. On February 16th, the first Star Wars Tsum Tsum collection will be released. Based on the original trilogy, this collection features Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia, R2-D2, C-3PO, Yoda, Jabba the Hut, Boba Fett plus an Ewok and a Storm Trooper. May my money be with Disney.

Return of the Tsum Tsums

In a surprising move after selling out of most of The Lion King collection last month, Disney Store actually restocked!!! Be still, my heart. Six of the characters are back in stock: Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumba, Rafiki and Zazu. This is a first for Disney Store and I think it’s a step in the right direction. It decreases the second market value, meaning more fans who want them can get them at retail price. So thank you, Disney Store, and keep up the great work!

Season of Love

In the Tsum Tsum game, two Valentine’s Day Tsum Tsums were released that are only available until February 29th. Valentine Minnie and Valentine Daisy are both color variants on their regular Tsum Tsum self. Minnie’s black ears have turned chocolate and her pink bow replaces polka dots with hearts. Daisy is now a cream color and her purple bow is now made of chocolate, also with hearts.

Both Valentine Minnie and Valentine Daisy have a similar power, calling their Valentine sweetheart into the game which can be added to the same chain. For example, Minnie’s power transforms Tsum Tsums into Mickey and you can connect Mickeys and Minnies to create a longer chain. Minnie scatters Mickey throughout the screen, whereas Daisy only transforms Tsum Tsums in the center into Donald. I personally think Minnie makes it easier to create longer chains, but both are fun.

Be sure to keep logging into the game this month too, because Tsum Tsum is going to launch a box of chocolates event called “Feel the Love!” I feel it, bring it on. Mmm… chucklit…
