Children arrive early for the scheduled sessions of the Jedi Training Academy.
Assistants see to it that they are seated on the floor in the lower level. A
Jedi Master and his apprentice are introduced. The Master explains that a group
of volunteers will be chosen from the audience. Children are chosen at random,
and are outfitted with robes and issued "practice" light sabers.
The Master teaches the youngsters a basic combination, which is repeated several
times. As they prepare to go on to another lesson, ominous music plays, two
Storm Troopers take command of the theater, and the Terrace stage rises to
reveal Darth Vader. Vader commands the young recruits to join him in the Dark
Side of the Force. But the Jedi Master insists that the recruits would never do
such a thing, and points out that Vader is outnumbered. Vader is then joined by
Darth Maul.
The Master then encourages the young recruits to use their just mastered
combination to defeat Darth Vader and Darth Maul. Each child is given the
opportunity to battle one or the other. After each has done so, Darth Vader and
Maul vow revenge, and disappear as the Terrace stage sinks out of sight.
The young Padawans are congratulated. After returning their robes and practice
light sabers, each is issued a certificate.
