Walt Disney World President Meg Crofton thanked Lowell and Michael for their service commenting that they remind us that cast members are at the heart of the magic. She briefly discussed the history of the Ambassador program which began with Disneyland's 10th anniversary and was adopted at Walt Disney World's 1971 opening.

Meg highlighted the variety of appearances they have participated in during their year as the WDW Ambassador team. She described them as having a "thirst for knowledge, an unwavering committment to our cast members and a passion for being the very best they can be." She went on to highlight their individual talents and personalities.

She explained that Lowell is an active supporter of the College program, assisting many in launching Disney careers from the program and announced he has been nominated for a Partners in Excellence award this year. She described Michael as an extraordinary cast member with a deep love of Disney and explained that he is someone who strives to always give to and learn something from the people he meets.

Shortly before announcing the new Ambassador team, WDW President Meg Crofton discusses the upcoming year's events which will include Disney's Animal Kingdom's 10th anniversary. She tells the finalists that the new team will be part of the celebration of the park's unique experiences and will inform guests of its conservation efforts including animal births and rescues. She explained that during this "wild year" the team will be " representing the proud heritage of the company, the world reknown spirit of our Cast, making magic in our parks and resorts, touching lives in our community, sharing Disney traditions around the world, and modeling our heritage here at home" and making dreams come true along the way.
