Disney Channel's premiere of "Cadet Kelly" (Friday, March 8, 8:00 p.m., ET/PT) delivered the network's highest Household rating ever (5.6 rating, 4.4 million Homes) for the popular Disney Channel Original Movie franchise and is the most watched telecast ever (7.8 million Total Viewers) on the network, according to data provided by Nielsen Media Research.
Disney Channel's primetime (8:00-11:00 p.m.) outperformed all broadcast and cable competition in Tweens (11.3 national rating, 2.8 million Tweens age 9-14) and Kids 6-11 (11.2 national rating, 2.8 million).
"Cadet Kelly" ranked number one in its targeted demographic, Tweens (3.5 million Tweens viewers, age 9-14) and Kids 6-11 (3.4 million) and Kids 2-11 (3.9 million).
The lead-in to "Cadet Kelly," an original episode of "Lizzie McGuire" (7:30 p.m., ET/PT), delivered the series best-ever ratings in Households (3.1), Tweens (10.3) and Kids 6-14 (9.3 rating).
The combination of "Cadet Kelly" and "Lizzie McGuire" on Friday night's Zoog Disney programming block entrenched Disney Channel as the top destination for its targeted demo, Tweens (age 9-14). Disney Channel dominated the Top 10 basic cable telecasts in Tweens, holding nine of the ten highest rated spots in basic cable telecasts.
The military school-themed movie "Cadet Kelly" stars Disney Channel original series favorites from both "Lizzie McGuire" (Hilary Duff) and "Even Stevens" (Christy Carlson Romano).
