LPWire: Finding Nemo Soundtrack To Be Released May 20
Robbie Williams Makes a Big Splash With "Beyond the Sea'' on Walt Disney Records "Finding Nemo'' Soundtrack
Brit rocker Robbie Williams makes big waves with the end title track "Beyond the Sea" (taken from his 2001 release, "Swing When You're Winning") for "Finding Nemo," a Walt Disney Pictures presentation of Pixar Animation Studios' new animated underwater adventure. Robbie Williams has racked up a string of hits around the globe and has sold over 27 million records worldwide. Williams' latest effort, the highly anticipated CD "Escapology," was released in the United States in April 2003.
Pixar Animation Studios, the Academy Award(R)-winning creators of "Toy Story," "A Bug's Life" and "Monsters, Inc.," dive into a whole new world of computer-animated fun, fantasy, and heartfelt emotion with the splashy underwater adventure, "Finding Nemo."
The film follows the comedic and eventful journeys of two fish -- Marlin and his son Nemo -- who become separated in the Great Barrier Reef when Nemo is unexpectedly taken from home and thrust into a fish tank in a dentist's office overlooking Sydney Harbor. Buoyed by the companionship of a friendly-but-forgetful fish named Dory, the overly cautious father embarks on a dangerous trek and finds himself the unlikely hero of an epic journey to rescue his son -- who hatches a few daring plans of his own to return safely home.
Additional music for "Finding Nemo" is scored by Grammy(R) winner and Oscar(R)-nominated composer Thomas Newman, whose credits include "Road to Perdition," "American Beauty," "The Shawshank Redemption," "The Player" and the Title Theme to the HBO series "Six Feet Under."
The "Finding Nemo Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" is scheduled for release on May 20, 2003 on Walt Disney Records. Disney/Pixar's "Finding Nemo" opens in theatres nationwide on May 30, 2003.
