Dear Mr. Pellman-I am 8 years old. Some of my little friends say there is no Disney Magic. Papa says `If you see it on LaughingPlace.com, especially in Kenversations, it's so - unless you only find it on the discussion boards, where information is sometimes based on rumors or incorrect information and should not be assumed true.' I had been looking all over cyberspace for an answer, and I saw that some people say Disney is evil, others say Disney was once good and is now bad, and still others say Disney is just a business and exists only to make money. They all agree that there is no such thing as Disney Magic, and some of those people work for Disney! Please tell me the truth- is there Disney Magic?

Virginia, your little friends are wrong. Those naysayers in cyberspace are wrong - even those that work for Disney. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age, and the cynicism of a cynical world. They do not believe except they see, or sometimes, even if they do see. They live only for money and stimulation of their senses. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds, held in their hands, or filling their stomachs. All minds, Virginia, whether they be adult's or children's, are little. In this great universe of ours people are like mere insects, ants, in our intellect, as compared with the boundless world about us, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.
Your friends are caught up in a rush to lose their childlike innocence, which is something very precious indeed and to be cherished.

Yes, Virginia, there is Disney Magic. It exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! how dreary would be LaughingPlace.com if there were no Disney Magic! It would be as dreary as if there were no Virginias. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We should have no enjoyment, except in sense and sight. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.
Not believe in Disney Magic! You might as well not believe in Santa Claus! You might get your papa to hire men to audit The Walt Disney Company (and there are plenty of people who would like to!), but even if they did not see Disney Magic, what would that prove? Nobody can bottle Disney Magic, but that is no sign that there is no Disney Magic. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor adults can prove exist, but can only experience.
You find and look over the floor plans for The Haunted Mansion, and see how everything works, but that still doesn't mean it isn't haunted. You can see how animated characters are created, but it doesn't mean they aren't real.
Virginia, Disney Magic is the serendipitous and synergistic convergence of so many different things, that it is very hard to explain. And when something is hard to explain, some people say it isn't there. But they are wrong.
Disney Magic is real. Disney Magic is more than just clever marketing. Disney Magic is more than just the side effects of too much sugar from a churro & lemon quench beverage followed by a ride on the Mad Tea Party. It is more than just your own wishes and desires playing tricks on your mind. It is something more than the hard work of thousands of very talented people originally led by charismatic visionary from Midwestern America.
Disney Magic is there when a little girl wants to learn to read because Belle likes to read. It is there when a nervous man proposes marriage to an overjoyed lady in front of a fairy-tale castle. It is there when man who is usually wearing a three-piece suit in a busy office with "Vice-President" on the door is simply "Grampa" for a day, wearing shorts, embroidered mouse ears, and a smile from ear to ear as he cruises aboard a paddlewheel riverboat
