Grand Opening of "a bug's land"

On  Monday October 7th Disney officially opened "a bug's land" and Flik's Fun Fair at Disney's California Adventure in a ceremony held outside the land. The ceremony began with an introduction of Disney's new President of Theme Parks and Resorts (replacing Paul Pressler) Jay Rasulo by Disney CEO Michael Eisner.

Cynthia Harriss: We have so much to share with you today and we just can’t wait to get started. But first of all I’d like to introduce - we have two very special guests who’ve joined us this morning, and it is my great pleasure to introduce to you the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Walt Disney Company, Michael Eisner, and joining him is our newly appointed President of Walt Disney Parks and Resort Jay Rasulo.

Michael Eisner: Thank you, Cynthia. I just wanted to welcome everybody to Disneyland and congratulate Disneyland, the whole Disneyland community for building this great facility that is behind me with the Tower of Terror looming over my left shoulder that will be fifteen months down the road. We have put a lot of fabulous attractions into the ground including the entire park Disney's California Adventure and we’re hoping that with the addition of "a bug’s land", Tower of Terror and the continuing creative development from Walt Disney Imagineers that Disneyland and the Disneyland Resort will continue to grow and prosper.

I just wanted to come out today to introduce a fellow Disney employee, a man who has been worked for the Disney Company just about as long as I have, 17 years. Who has been in various different parts of the Walt Disney organization including the last four years at our Disneyland Paris Resort. Jay arrived in Paris speaking not a word of English [Ed Note: He meant to say French] I on the other hand had taken French since I was four and still do not speak it well. Jay, in one year, has become completely fluent in French. Which shows that he is brighter than me and will do a fantastic job in leading our parks worldwide. So I personally, for the whole Walt Disney Company, welcome you here today at Disneyland. I’m unbelievably enthusiastic about what’s going on down here. I’d like to introduce Jay Rasulo.
