Just Go With the Flow
November 3-5, 2006

The Walt Disney World Ambassador ceremony is today. We got in the habit of
seeing these at Disneyland but this was our first at WDW. I thought the ceremony
did a great job of celebrating Ambassadors with so many of the past ambassadors
in attendance and an important role for WDW's first ambassador. It was also
great hearing the current ambassadors talk about their experiences and say
goodbye. There's something about the Ambassador program that's always interested
me ever since I learned about Disneyland's first ambassador, Cicely Rigdon while
learning about Disneyland's windows on Main Street.
Afterwards I got to experience the new Seas with Nemo and Friends for what seemed like the first time (the real first time I had my eye trained in a video camera). I enjoyed it much more. Got to see some things I missed the first time, especially the angler fish. The EAC was much cooler this time, and the final scene is absolutely magical. In fact, right now I can't think of a more magical scene in a Disney attraction. I hope it comes off just as well in California (presumably) without the real fish.
Overheard on the way to Seas ... four young girls (perhaps with Magic Music Days) debating whether or not they could go to the Pavilion because their teacher told them they weren't allowed to get wet. We assured them it would be ok.
The day ended with dinner at Spoodles at the Boardwalk. I really enjoy visiting the Boardwalk at night. I'm a sucker for jugglers, magicians and that sort of thing, and I love being on the water. Spoodles can get noisy with its hardwood floors, and they don't have any entrees I'm very fond of (since they stopped serving the niocchi). But their appetizers are enough to keep me coming back. Highly recommended are the Mediterranean Dips and the Four Cheese Flatbread.

Saturday morning we decided to do one our favorite activities, a pontoon boat
ride on the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. So completely relaxing and a great
way to start the weekend. Made it back to the resort for dinner at Pop Century,
our favorite food court. The vegetarian lasagna is made with soy meat, really
yummy! And the background music there is pretty cool with its 50-90s mix.
