Catching Up With Doobie 101
February 20, 2007
It's been far too long since I've written here. Mostly it was due to the media events at Walt Disney World last month followed immediately by a week-long vacation (sort of) for Rebekah and I. But I'm all caught up and it's great to be back Living the Disney Life. I thought it'd be fun in this return column to talk about some of the highlights from the media event. Initially, I was going to include the vacation as well. But as I went through the pictures from the Cruise, I just couldn't narrow it down enough, so I'll save that for a Living the Disney Life later this week.

Disney crams a lot into a few days during these events and for outlets like ours that try to get as much coverage up as quickly as possible, it can be hectic. But there's definitely some fun to be had as well during the ceremonies and the parties in the parks. Here are some of my personal highlights:
The Wish Lounge
Disney opened a Wish Lounge where Make-A-Wish kids can rest during their busy
Disney day. The little girl chosen to participate in the opening ceremony was
adorable - a princess in every way.

Castle Suite Family
Imagine being on Star Tours during your Disney vacation. The next thing you know
you've been awarded the first night in the new Cinderella Castle Suite and, as a
part of that, you're participating in the media event. That's what happened to
the Fouch family. In a year of a million dreams, that may have been the greatest
of them all.

Snow White on the Carousel
Following the Castle family ceremony Fantasyland was opened up for the media to
play in. When I entered several of the characters were riding on the Carousel
including my second favorite princess...
