An afternoon view from the Napa Rose main dining room

The second way to experience the Napa Rose for a little less money is to go to the Sunday brunch. The brunch started about a month ago and so far Rebekah and I have been twice - the second time being last Sunday for Father's Day. The brunch is served every Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Guests can choice two, three or four courses with the courses being Starters, Second Course, Main Course and Dessert. See the box below for some choices from the first brunch. However, the choices do change from week-to-week which I consider a big plus! The price is $22 for two courses, $28 for three courses and $34 for four courses. Add bottomless Champagne for $10.00 A children's menu is also available.

Napa Rose Sunday Champagne Brunch partial menu
Typically there are 3-5 choices in each course. Here we're showing only two.

Starters
Grapevine Smoked Salmon with Warm Potato Pancakes and Traditional Garnish Confetti
Corm Meal Crepes with Coastal Mushrooms, Spinach and Sage Borsin Cheese

Second Courses
Charred Tomato Gazpacho with Dungeness Crab & Jalapeno Salsa
Marinated Heirloom Beet Salad, Tiny Green Beans, Watercress and "Mine Shaft" Bleu Cheese

Main Courses
Poached Eggs on Dungeness Crab and Applewod Smoked Bacon Hash topped with Roasted Red Bell Pepper Hollandaise
Tuscan Style Grilled Porterhouse of Lamb with Summer Vegetable Risotto and Natural Jus

Dessert
Warm Milk Chocolate Blintz with Cherry Port Compote and Creme Fraiche Chantilly
Cappuccino Chocolate Croissant Bread Pudding

Of course, dinner in the Napa Rose dining room is also a wonderful experience. In the past, for special occasions, I've gone to the Blue Bayou or Granville's. Since the expansion I've thoroughly enjoyed the Mondavi Vineyard Room, Avalon Cove and many of the Downtown Disney restaurants. But there's no question that now - for special occasions at the Disneyland Resort - the Napa Rose is the place I'll be. To make reservations at the Napa Rose, call (714) 300-7170.

Trivia Week
Let's see ... LaughingPlace.com is coming up on our two year anniversary. There are 52 weeks in a year. That means ... HEY! It's almost time for our 100th trivia contest. In fact, our 99th is going on right now and number 100 starts on Monday. In honor of this special occasion we're going be doing a few special things, the first being a special 100th Trivia Contest. Instead of our normal 15 questions we're going to have 50 questions. We're also going to have lots more prizes than we normally do. The best part - Trivia Contest Hall of Famer and former contest creator Matt Walker is going to be writing the questions. So I hope all you readers who look at the trivia contest but don't enter because "I'll never win", go ahead and enter this one. because you just never know what you might win!

And yes, we'll also be catching up on the contests that have yet to be graded. Once again, we apologize for the delay.

Tooting Our Own Horn
I was very pleasantly surprised to learn about two weeks ago that LaughingPlace.com was mentioned in a national travel magazine - Travelocity Magazine. They did a round-up of some online resources for trip planning and said these wonderful words about LaughingPlace.com.

LaughingPlace.com: This is the envy of all unofficial Disney info sites/portals - as super-organized, comprehensive and user-friendly as the official site. It's teeming with guest reviews on resorts, ratings on rides, personal advice on special events, a Disney discussion board (again, know your limits) and article headlines that will make hardcore DW fans drool. ("What is pin trading? How does it work? What's the propert etiquette?")

Thank you very much, Travelocity Magazine, we really appreciate the mention. I think it's kind of funny that we get mentioned in the context of Walt Disney World since that's definitely not our specialty, but who are we to look a gift horse in the mouth? However, for some really detailed WDW information, be sure to check out our partner site, The DIS.

That Does It
And that does it for this Editor's Report. As always, I really appreciate all the wonderful feedback you guys send. It really does help LaughingPlace.com be a better place. If you have a comment, criticism, question or anything else, just use our Feedback page and send it on!

Until next time ...
