The Fabulous Disney Babe

Alice doesn't remember the attraction, but we listen to the soundtrack and she's seen a Jeff Lange video of it. I stood there and mentally mapped out the area, trying to figure out exactly where Rock 'n Roller Coaster is going to go - three separate, high-enough-to-know (id est, not popcorn vendor) sources inside Disney have confirmed it to me as being solidly on the plan - and admired the new Tower of Terror construction flag:
Outside, the last game of the World Series was just starting up, and Downtown Disney was a sea of red from the Downtown Disney sign to World of Disney, everyone camped out watching the Jumbotron. They won right after we got home...I guess that is Michael's lucky shirt!
We celebrated Samhain at home this year, though I hear the Nightmare Before Christmas event at Disneyland was incredible. Alice was Ginny Weasley from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - Ginny beat out KimPossible by a teensy little margin - Alice thought that Kim would be "too cold". Disney costumes outpaced all others at her school. One teacher was an amazing big-haired Cruella DeVil, another a pretty Belle. Lots and lots of princesses and a handful of "Princesses of the Prairie" (Jessie). We had Powerpuff Girls Jack o' Lanterns and also a Mike Wazowski one. Unfortunately, my camera stopped reading the disk (again - off to Sony to get fixed again) right after the classroom Halloween party, so I got no nighttime pictures. That's okay, though - we had lots of fun trick or treating.
Now that my favorite holiday, Halloween, is past, it's time to think about the upcoming Harry Potter movie. No, no, it's time to think about my favorite holiday, Christmas. And the new Harry Potter movie. I'm going to look at some Disney holiday traditions this season, including the holiday show at the El Capitan, which has become a much -loved Los Angeles holiday tradition.
Speaking of holidays, November 18th is a holiday for Disney fans - the birthday of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. A little bird has told me that there will be a special button commemorating their birthday at the Plaza Inn Birthday Celebration that day. Currently only one seating is scheduled so space is very limited. Call (714) 781-DINE to make a reservation and ask about the Plaza Inn Birthday Celebration. Click here for more on Plaza Inn birthdays.
