MUSIC AND SOUND:
Two of the most vital elements of any animated film.
Sound in particular is very important as all the ambient sounds have to be created for the film, as there is no "soundstage" to record them on. Learn how the sound effects experts used water picks and ceramic pots to create some of the more esoteric sounds in Atlantis.
Composer James Newton Howard, who also scored Dinosaur and the upcoming Treasure Planet for Disney, had the challenge of creating a score that would include traditional "high adventure" themes as well as a whole "musical voice" for the lost city of Atlantis.
(Thankfully, no mention is made of the limp Diane Warren power ballad that plays over the end credits.)
PUBLICITY:
Four Trailers are available for viewing. Note that the first trailer contains
extensive shots from the original Viking prologue. Also includes a Print Campaign gallery.

Toon Talk Trivia:
Included in the DVD packaging is a flier announcing a direct to video sequel to Atlantis: The Lost Empire. Most likely, it is culled from the never seen television series, Team Atlantis.
Final Word:
"Atlantis is what can happen when you put baby-boomers in a room who haven't grown up yet." -- Tab Murphy, screenwriter of Atlantis: The Lost Empire.
