Toon Talk CD Round Up
Album Title: Disneys Princess Favorites
Album Type: Song Collection Album
Whats Good About It: Disney Records trots out the
Princess label one more time (this is the third such collection) to showcase
the four new songs from Cinderella II: Dreams Come True
Whats Not So Good About It:
like you were dying to hear
those again. All the other tracks here should be found elsewhere in any true Disney fans
music collection, and some (If I Cant Love Her, Kiss the
Girl) are marginal princess songs at best. Extra demerits for making me
listen to Out of Thin Air again

Album Title: Disneys Superstar Hits
Album Type: Song Collection Album
Whats Good About It: A volume 2 to Disneys
Greatest Pop Hits: A Decade of Radio Singles, this edition adds the pop songs from
the features Mulan to The Emperors New Groove, as well as a rare
Tina Turner recording of He Lives in You from The Lion King II:
Simbas Pride.
Whats Not So Good About It: It also features the direct to
video ditties from The Hunchback of Notre Dame II and Cinderella II,
sung by pop wannabes Brooke Allison and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Like the Princess
album, true Disney buffs will have most of these songs on the original soundtracks,
although fans of these versions (I hear there are some) may like having them all together
on one disc.

Album Title: Mickeys Dance Party!
Album Type: Disneyfied Pop Album
Whats Good About It: A follow-up of sorts to the more enjoyable,
Latin-flavored La Vida Mickey album of two years ago, this collection of
(according to the cover blurb) todays hottest dance songs done Mickey
style! is sanitized dance pop for the tween set. One track stands out, the Barenaked
Ladies-style babble of Life is a Rock (But the Radio Rolled Me
Again!).
Oddity: Goofy (voice of Bill Farmer) sings that ode to depression, Blue (Da Ba
Dee).
Whats Not So Good About It: Its been awhile since I
Want Candy, Dancing in the Street and Gonna Make You Sweat
have been todays hottest. Disney is always a little late in
jumping on musical trends (anyone remember Mickey Unrapped?), as evidenced here
by such embarrassingly five minutes ago slang as Yo, Mickey is in the
house!. And whoever thought anyone would want to listen to such dreck as
Who Woke Snow White Up? (sung to the tune of Who Let the
Dogs Out?) should be put to sleep, pronto. Word ta yo motha
