Witness the film’s glittery, tacked-on fairy tale finale, wherein Lola ends up in the arms of her token male friend (the generic Eli Marienthal of The Country Bears) for no other reason then the implication that all this so-called Drama Queen really needs to settle down her ways is the love of a good boyfriend … what kind of ‘girl power’ does that promote exactly?

You know the type, the toons that get all worked up, making a big production over the slightest thing …

  1. In just about every appearance he has ever made, from The Wise Little Hen (1934) to Mickey’s PhilharMagic (2003), Donald Duck usually ends up in one of his famous feathery fits.
  2. Some easy time management skills would solve all of the White Rabbit’s problems in Alice in Wonderland (1951).
  3. A simple lapse in etiquette is all it took to turn Maleficent in to the ultimate drama queen in Sleeping Beauty (1959).
  4. In Robin Hood (1973), all Prince John wants is gold … oh, and his mommy.
  5. Pooh Bears stuck in his rabbit hole and Tiggers bouncing through his carrot garden are all too much for poor Rabbit to bear in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977).
  6. Sure, she acts all rotten and nasty for the most part, but two little mice are all it takes to spook ol’ Madame Medusa in The Rescuers (1977).
  7. Divas are known for their extravagant life styles, particular tastes … and over-the-top outbursts, as seen with Georgette in Oliver and Company (1988).
  8. He’s the court composer, so how does the diminutive Sebastian end up the chaperone of The Little Mermaid (1989)?
  9. It’s all that blasted Lumiere’s fault … if not for him, majordomo Cogsworth would have it easy in Beauty and the Beast (1991).
  10. Low self-esteem is not the best of personality traits for a plastic dinosaur, as seen in Rex in Toy Story (1995) and Toy Story 2 (1999).

  • The latest DVD from the Hundred Acre Wood, Winnie the Pooh: Springtime for Roo, goes on sale March 9th.
  • Two Disney Channel favorites return to DVD shelves March 16th with Kim Possible: A Stitch in Time, Lizzie McGuire: Star Struck and Lizzie McGuire: Totally Crushed.
