Turning 10, the park has adopted a softer, subtler approach. This is due, in main of course, to the opening of the Walt Disney Studios. The marking of the 10th birthday came in the month prior to the actual birthday itself. As a nod to the Studios, the Disney Legends Statue has been updated with this years European Legends, celebrated at the opening of the Studios the month before.

The softer approach could be found on the simple "10" scroll over the gateway through Sleeping Beautys Castle. A cake platform which was introduced during the Studios opening sat inside the Central Plaza. The subtler approach is found in the windows down Main Street. Victorian characters mix with Disney characters against large backdrops of tinted photographs of Main Street and the Castle.

A special guidemap was issued for the day, heavy in the magenta which now dominates the Parks new logo. The celebration for the day was two-fold. A procession finishing with a ceremony beginning at 10.30 am at Central Plaza, now with added birthday presents, and a showing of the 10th Birthday fireworks (a one-off until the summer).
