LP: Can I ask what your role was (in the making of the film)?

CS: I was the producer

LP: Oh, that's even more important than the director.

CS: (laughs) I don't know about that. The directors are pretty important.

LP: How excited are you about this film?

CS: I'm so excited. You know you kind of put your heart and energy into a film for three and half years and then get to this moment and see all of Hollywood Blvd transformed into Hawaii and a 25 foot Stitch on the building. It's very exciting.

LP: Is this movie as important to the future of animation as some have said?

CS: You know its an interesting time for animation because there have been a lot of films recently that can came out that are all kind of digital type films and this is a film that is going back in time. really making a film based on films of the 30s and 40s like Dumbo and Bambi and we're using watercolor backgrounds and everything is hand drawn and hand painted. So we're trying to be a little bit different from that standpoint. So we hope that when it goes out there people embrace that quality.

LP: I haven't seen a character as popular as Stitch since maybe Winnie the Pooh. Did this completely take you by surprise or did you kind of expect it?

CS: You know as you're making the film you start to see people really gravitate towards this character Stitch. One of the great things is when the directors came up with this idea of putting Stitch into our other films like the Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. Once we did that and saw how quickly kids tapped into this character, Stitch, we realized we might have something that would be kind of exciting. Because he has this great two qualities to him, he's mischievous, he can be bad just like kids like to be and he can also be a sweet puppy dog kind of character also which of course parents like.
