Matt: Thank you very much everyone. I really appreciate the applause. And now its time to welcome our very own queen bee, please welcome the president of the Disneyland Resort, Miss Cynthia Harriss.

Cynthia Harriss: Well hello again. We’re absolutely delighted that you’ve chosen to join us today as we celebrate the opening of our fourth land here at Disney's California Adventure, "a bug’s land". This is inspired by the award winning Disney/Pixar animated film, A Bug’s Life. It’s a place where the whole family can have fun, but from a bug’s point of view. I’m also so pleased today to welcome our little bugs up here in the front, These are our very special guests they’re students from the Walt Disney Elementary School right here in Anaheim and they’re joined by the head start students from the Orange Children and Parents Together organization. So welcome to all of you. Now I can see that you’ve already started getting a bug’s view because of those little antennas that you’ve been sprouting. There's more fun to come.

Well Walt Disney loved the adventure of discovery and through his creative imagination he really birthed an entire new world of entertainment and, in fact, when he opened his very first theme park, Disneyland, that was when he really pursued his goals of imagination. And he was quoted many times as saying I want the guests to be transported to a different world. Well we at the Disneyland Resort are so proud to carry on this legacy that is so remarkable and in fact we know, or we sure think that a bug’s land is going to do just that. It will take us to a whole new world where from the tallest to the smallest will have big fun but from a bug view.

I have to tell you how this all started though. We were getting ready for Tower of Terror. We were starting to clear the area for the magnificent Twilight Zone Tower of Terror which we plan to open 2004. That’s what you see right back here - this magnificent structure that’s going to be this spectacular attraction. But as we were clearing it, you wouldn’t believe it - we found this miniature little theme park back there that was being run by bugs. Well I have to tell you we looked at it and we said 'where did this come from and what the heck is it doing? So I had to call the best bug expert that I knew and I’m calling him out right now, because its my pleasure to introduce to you not only the bug expert but the Executive Vice-President of Creative for Pixar Animation Studios, John Lasseter.
