“Today we’re thrilled to celebrate an enduring Disney star right here at Grauman’s Chinese Theater,? he continued, “the historic location where so many classic films have come to life on the silver screen. We’re about to honor the stars of a Disney classic that has remained popular for the past 67 years-‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’.?
Grant then offered some historical perspective, saying, “When Walt Disney’s ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ debuted in 1937, the industry saw history in the making. It was the first full-length animated feature ever made! The realistic animation, spectacular color, beloved songs and timeless characters enchanted audiences the world over. The achievement was so amazing, that do you know what happened?? Grant answered his own question: “Walt Disney was honored with a Special Oscar and seven miniature Oscars for producing ‘a significant screen innovation which has charmed millions and pioneered a great new entertainment field for the motion picture industry.’?
