Opening of Finding Nemo - The
Musical
If you've read this column before you've probably read about my love for Finding
Nemo - the Musical at Animal Kingdom, so it was a real joy to see if officially
opened by Disney Parks chief Jay Rasulo and watch that first performance with
all the media. An added bonus was meeting
Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez who composed the songs for the show.

Nemo's Rainy Evening
Following the musical's opening, we were taken to Epcot for the opening of The
Seas with Nemo and Friends. Perhaps appropriately (the ride is
underwater), it rained all evening. While it was sad to see so much happening
out doors with no one to see it as everyone stayed warm and dry inside the
pavilion, the memory of the performers and elaborate decor - and even the
opening ceremony itself - getting drenched in the down pour, is my enduring
memory from the week's events.

Bridge to Terabithia
Got to see the Bridge to Terabithia yesterday. As a rule, I don't like fantasy
movies and all the commercials would definitely have you believe this was a
fantasy in the same vein as Narnia. Luckily, I had read enough to know that the
marketing was misleading and that, plus the wonderful Rotten Tomatoes score, had
me to walking into the theater with very high hopes. And while I liked the film
very much, it was a bit disappointing. I thought it was better than "pretty
good" but not as good as "very good". But I can recommend it without hesitation
as a good coming of age film suitable for almost everyone (it's probably not for
the very young).
