Toon Talk: Secretariat Blu-Ray
Secretariat was indeed a super horse, as he was known in the media at the time, and where the film never quite gets you to believing that, the Blu-ray bonus feature Heart of a Champion will. Using period footage of the real horse and recent interviews with those who were there, the 14-minute documentary distills the story of Secretariat down to the basics and, best of all, remains focused on the horse.
Other bonuses include Choreographing the Races (where it is revealed that five horses played Secretariat in the film), A Directors Inspiration: A Conversation with the Real Penny Chenery, an Audio Commentary by Wallace, seven Deleted Scenes, a Music Video of the end title song Its Who You Are (performed by AJ Michalka, who plays Pennys daughter Kate in the film) and an interactive Multi-Angle Simulation of Secretariats victory at the Peakness, where you can relive the race from the points of view of a jockey, a reporter, a historian and a spectator.
