QQuiksilver Presents The Tony Hawk Skate Jam will headline an action sports-themed weekend at Downtown Disney in Anaheim with a vert demo in the main plaza on Saturday, July 24 at 6:00 p.m. Quiksilver will also have booths, contests, prizes and activities planned throughout the weekend for kids of all ages.
“Thousands of kids and families travel from all over the world every summer to experience Disneyland Resort,” says Mike Matey, V.P. of Quiksilver Marketing. “We are looking forward to bringing them a day of action sports and a chance to see Tony Hawk and friends skate at Downtown Disney.”
The day’s events kick off at the Quiksilver flagship store at Downtown Disney at 10:00 a.m. with a “Spin The Wheel” contest, where 25 winners will get a chance at a private meet-and-greet with Tony Hawk later in the day. Other activities at the Quiksilver tents in the main plaza include a custom skateball game, Quiksilver’s version of skiball, where people have a hand at winning Quiksilver tees, posters, gift cards and more.
For fans who can’t be there in person, Quiksilver will bring viewers 24 hours of live updates at Facebook.com/quiksilver. Go behind the scenes with Quiksilver’s Skateboard Host, Blake Choate, who will give audiences an inside look at what’s going on: from set-up, to athlete interviews and Tony Hawk’s VIP autograph session, and a tour of Disneyland via to Quiksilver’s Facebook page made possible by Flip VideoTM. Quiksilver’s 24 hours at Disney coverage begins Friday afternoon, July 23rd.
